An artist collective dedicated to providing studio space, exhibition facilities and education programmes, to enhance the cultural life of Swindon.
Based in the Post Modern Gallery (an old post office) in the heart of the proposed cultural quarter. In line with our objectives, we want to provide a base for the community to engage in, understand and appreciate contemporary art and culture.
Artsite has been in existence since 1999 and became a limited company and charity in 2008. We preclude no group or individual from taking advantage of our provision.
Our Mission
Artsite Limited sees itself as part of the regeneration of central Swindon.
It's remit to advance the arts and culture, and to make them available to a wider audience has prompted work with The Community Crossroads and town centre management team.
Our connection with Alias (Arts Council England's artists initiative scheme) has led to the development of our present strategy of the promotion of arts and culture within the community of central Swindon and in developing alliances and new audiences.
Facilities
At The Post Modern we have ten working studios rented out to artists at an affordable rate. There is also a large gallery and event space with continually changing exhibitions. We also have a workshop space which can be hired for use by individual artists or groups.
