Swindon Open Studios has been running on and off for many years and, recently, local artists have pulled together to develop the idea into a regular event on the Swindon calendar.
Alias is a developmental scheme targeted at artist-led groups and artist-led initiatives in the South West region of England. It is an artist-led network, driven by a dialogue between the artists who work within it, continuously changing as groups begin, develop and evolve. The emphasis of our work is always on the development of a creative practice, in terms of quality and integrity. alias is unique in providing a flexible, open-ended and bespoke relationship lasting for sustained lengths of time.
Pixadelica is a collective of bored creatives who are not content with a lifetime of nine to five so organise live music nights in Reading, Berkshire. The current dominant culture is a disposable culture of mediocrity, a culture of junk. Junk is addictive and destructive and disposable and easily replaceable. No one likes junk but everyone craves more of it without thinking to ask why. Pixadelica is taking responsibility to enable ourselves to reject the junk and create a better culture of our own. Pixadelica is asking "why".
