Studios
Artsite supports emerging and practising artists through affordable studio
space within an artist – led setting to develop their practice The fees are
subsidised through a work hours scheme with studio members
volunteering 5 hours monthly toward the running and development of the
charity.
This includes maintenance, fundraising, curating exhibitions, running work shops and more. Members feed into the organisation’s collective decision-making process and help shape projects. This offers a unique way to connect, share ideas and work alongside different artists in a friendly supportive community environment. Studio artists also have access to reduced fees for use of the project space for exhibitions and events.
Artists can decide to opt out of being part of this membership through a
higher studio payment.
The 21 studios are spread across the 3 venues, ex businesses, 2 shops
and a post office, now called the Post Modern. Spaces are retro fitted with a slight difference of unit size, a few spaces benefit from natural light, day light bulbs can be added at the artist’s own cost. The fees cover the cost of electricity * water, there is Wi-Fi access. There is no central heating.
Applications are welcome from artists at all levels, across the visual and
creative arts community.
